What is ToDone?

Do I need to create an account to use ToDone?

No. ToDone never asks for an account, email address, password, or any personal information. There is nothing to sign up for — just open the site and start using it.

Does ToDone work offline?

Yes. On your first visit, ToDone installs a small Service Worker that caches the app itself (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, icons, and font) directly on your device. After that, ToDone loads and runs fully offline — you can open the site, create, edit, complete, and delete tasks with no internet connection at all. You can also install it to your homescreen or dock as a Progressive Web App for one-tap offline access. Because the whole app runs in your browser, going offline costs you nothing.

Where are my tasks stored?

Your tasks, drawings, and settings are stored only in your own browser, using LocalStorage on your device. Nothing is uploaded to a server. If you clear your browser data, use a private/incognito window, or switch to a different browser or device, that data stays with the browser you created it in and will not follow you automatically — but you can carry it with you using the built-in Backup / Restore tool (see below).

How do I move my tasks to another browser or device?

Because everything is stored locally, tasks don't automatically sync between browsers or devices. ToDone includes a built-in Backup / Restore tool for this: open the “💾 Backup / Restore” link in the instructions card, click “Download backup file” to save a single JSON snapshot of your notes, drawings, and completed-task history, then open ToDone on the target browser or device and choose that file via “Choose backup file…” to restore everything. You can also use the same feature to keep periodic safety copies of your data in case you clear your browser.

Does the ToDone owner have access to my tasks or drawings?

No. Your tasks and drawings never leave your device, so the site owner has zero access to them. They are not transmitted, synced, logged, or backed up anywhere. Only code running in your browser can read them.

What data does ToDone collect about me as a visitor?

ToDone itself does not run any analytics, tracking scripts, advertising, or third-party tracking pixels on the page. All of the app's assets — fonts, icons, and code — are served from todone.ca itself, so no third-party domains are contacted when you load the page. The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, which — as with any web host — sees standard network-level information (your IP address and User-Agent) in order to serve the page, and may include it in Cloudflare's own aggregate, non-identifying traffic analytics. No task content is ever included in these requests.

What happens if I submit feedback?

The feedback form is the only place where ToDone intentionally sends data to a server. If (and only if) you choose to submit it, the following is saved to a small Cloudflare D1 database that the site owner can read: the message you typed, the page path you submitted from, your browser's User-Agent string, a timestamp, and a one-way SHA-256 hash of your IP address (used only to spot spam — the raw IP is not stored and cannot be recovered from the hash). Nothing else about your tasks, drawings, or browsing is included. If you never submit feedback, no data is sent.

Does ToDone use cookies?

ToDone does not set any cookies of its own. The only persistent data on your device is the LocalStorage entries that hold your tasks and drawings. Cloudflare, as the hosting platform, may set a short-lived security cookie in some cases to protect the site from abuse.

Can I draw on the ToDone workspace?

Yes. Switch to drawing mode with the pencil tool (or press P) to sketch directly on the workspace. Use the eraser (E) to remove ink and the hand tool (H) to go back to dragging cards.

How do I mark a task as done?

Drag a sticky note into the blue done zone to complete it, or drag it into the red trash zone to delete it.
